Undertow "Stalemate" 7"/CD

EXC-007

Refuse became Undertow. A guy named Joel sang. They broke up, reformed with former bass player John Pettibone singing, and recorded a 5 song demo which became this 7". In this incarnation, Undertow went on to release the "At Both Ends" LP and the "Control" EP, toured the US multiple times and Europe once, and cemented themselves firmly into Straight Edge Hardcore history.

"This is the noise that kept me from suicide for twelve years. Bleak, torporous apathy is thrashed to almost-death in the sweet sounds of hardcore. The primal power of the music, sans any trace of metal or dubious grunge, reflects the frenzied lust for control, yet never loses the sad edge of tragic despair. John's vocals are perfection, containing the frantic rage of a lost soul that was one of the foundations of punk noise and attitude." -The Rocket

"Basically, Undertow is one of the best bands in the world, and this record will be their big chance to let everyone in on the secret. Incredible, Excellent, powerful, emotional. What else can you say?" -Wrong 'zine
