THE HIT is yet another chapter in the continuing saga of Matt Matsuoka's strange and chaotic life. Earlier chapters included the bands Ten-O-Seven and Red Rocket, in which Matt was the main singer/songwriter/guitarist (both bands have releases on Excursion), and the movies "Heartbreak Beat" and "For The Cash" which Matt wrote, directed, filmed and edited.

With THE HIT Matt returns to his musical roots. It's still the same basic sound - A sort of Rock/EMO/Pop - Close to what we used to call pop-punk maybe - Kind of like some of the more "alternative" stuff you used to hear in 80's John Hughes teen films, but with more of an edge.
Some people around here just call it "Matt Rock".

Recorded at Studio Litho by Matt Bayles, this is the best sounding "Matt Rock" yet.
